BREAKING NEW GROUND:  Ocean Breeze West 

On Friday, January 6, 2012, Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach celebrated a major milestone:  we celebrated the groundbreaking on Ocean Breeze West, a development of 21 single-family homes on Seacrest Boulevard in the Heart of Boynton Beach. The groundbreaking took place at 1 pm, and a celebration of the event was held at 5 pm, at 801 N. Seacrest Blvd.

We are  partnering with the Boynton Faith-Based Community Development Corporation (CDC) to construct the development on land donated by the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.  We will be constructing 11 of the 21 Ocean Breeze homes, and the CDC will be responsible for the remaining 10.  Land for the Habitat homes will be placed in a Community Land Trust to ensure that the homes always remain within the stock of affordable housing.

The Ocean Breeze West project marks the first multi-house development to be constructed by Habitat SPBC.  "Neighborhood revitalization has become an important component of Habitat for Humanity's mission, and bringing 21 new affordable homes into the community will be a major step in revitalizing the Heart of Boynton Beach," noted Mike Williams, Associate Director of Habitat SPBC.
