Habitat for Humanity South Palm Beach County was incorporated by the State of Florida
May 22, 1991
The very first meeting was held at the home of John McGeary in Boca Raton. Present at that first meeting were: Clayton (Jerry) Ludeman, Geraldine Ludeman, John McGeary, Betty McGeary, Victor Yue, Phillip Dick, Grant Walker and John Truesdall.
The following were elected officers:
President : Clayton Ludeman
Vice President: Grant Walker
Secretary: John Truesdell
Treasurer: James Beatty
June 1991
Kevin Holler - Landscape Architect - presented the first landscape design
A second gathering was advertised asking for volunteers from the community. This meeting was held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. It was at this point that Judy Ijams joined the affiliate and was a member of the Family Selection Committee. Lois Martin (who is still on the committee) and she worked together with Phillip Dick to write the original criteria and application for Family Selection. Phillip chaired the committee for about 3 months until he and his family transferred to Illinois. Judy became Chair of Family Selection at that time. That would have been some time before the end of 1991.

Patricia and Jeremiah Young were the first Habitat Homeowners
(164 NE 11th Street in Boca Raton)
Ron Rindler was the contractor who supervised the construction of this first home.
December 10, 1991
We received a letter from HFH International that we were approved as an affiliate.
