Acceptable Donation Items
- Air Conditioners: Window or Central Air OK. Less than 7 years old.
- Appliances: All appliances must be in 100% working order, clean and with all knobs present. All appliances must be 7 years or younger (dates found with serial numbers). We accept Refrigerators, Freezers, Dishwashers, Stoves, Cook tops, Over stove vents, televisions, radios, stereos, toasters, fans...speak with manager for items not included in list. Please include owner's manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.
- Bricks & Cinder Blocks: New (never installed) and clean. Stepping stones and pavers accepted.
- Ceramic Tile: Including marble, granite and composite. Min 25 sq. ft. New (never installed)
- Cabinets: New and Used...without water or dismantling damage. Keep doors on or number them.
- Countertops: Straight sections, Minimum 6ft length. Granite, marble or mica...speak with manager for items not included.
- Doors: Interior, exterior, wood, steel, French doors. No damage, nails or screws or extra holes or refinishing needed. No plain panel doors. Not over 82". Call to see if accepting (limited room in store). Sorry no sliding glass doors unless they are impact resistant.
- Drapes: We do accept clean, non-sunbleached drapes and curtains
- Electrical: We accept most electrical parts, wires, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring (110v & 220 v wire, switches, switch plates, outlets, junction boxes, fuses, breakers, connectors, conduit)
- Flooring: New wood flooring (min 25 sq. ft.) tile, vinyl squares and sheets. No Carpet. Small Area Rugs (5' X 8') clean, excellent condition-see above for tiles.
- Furniture: All furniture must be gently used. Please no rips, fading, cracks, repairs or steam cleaning needed. Entertainment Centers....check with manager. We can only accept new mattresses.
- Hardware: Hinges, doorknobs, screws, bolts, nails, roofing nails (please no rust), pulls, metal brackets
- Housewares: Clean and reusable, everyday dishes to decorative vases, silk plant, collectibles, linens, pictures, etc. Speak with manager.
- Hurricane Shutters: Metal, Aluminum, Clear (please check with Manager on Duty for present acceptance). Accordion. We do not accept roll down (non hurricane) decorative shutters.
- Lawn tools: Rakes, shovels, hoes, weed whackers, and mowers...all must be working during actual donation.
- Lighting: Chandeliers to table top laps including outside lighting fixtures and new bulbs. All working, no rust, and complete.
- Lumber: 4-8 ft lengths without nails or screws, including decorative molding, plywood, etc. No weather damage, paint or concrete
- Office Furniture: We take desks, credenzas, file cabinets, and chairs. No partitions, cubicles or office furniture made with particle board.
- Paint: Stains or latex -water based only. Full cans please...not expired-no rusted tops, Misc supplies-new
- Plumbing: Copper, PVC, ABS etc...sprinkler fittings accepted also. Decorative fixtures/hardware
- Sinks: Kitchen, bathroom, utility and bar types. No rust, chips, dents etc. Countertop and sink composite combinations not over 36", no cast iron sinks.
- Toilets: Toilets and Bidets. All must be very, very clean and complete.
- Tools: Hand tools and power tools working, no rust.
- Windows: Most windows. No broken or cracked panes and non-jalousie. Plantation shutters
- Window Treatments: Curtains or drapes. No mini-blinds or vertical blinds. Plantation shutters are ok.
Unfortunately, the Habitat ReStore cannot accept the following items for donation. Thank you for your understanding.
- Clothing
- Hazardous or highly flammable materials, such as oil base paint, varnish, shellac, lacquer, paint thinner, etc.
- Electronic equipment - Computers, VCRs, batteries, or personal care items such as electric razors, electric curlers or curling irons
- Exercise equipment
- Wall mirrors without frames
- Infant car seats and infant-related accessories Items in need of repair
- Textbooks or technical materials
- Old typewriters
